About The Position

OPERATIONS - ASSET MANAGEMENT Essential Functions: Provide a high level of technical expertise and leadership in the skills and techniques of asset management for collection system, treatment plant, and pump station related maintenance, rehabilitation, modification, modernization, replacement, and operation. Based on understanding of asset reliability and risk principles, develop, and maintain standards for effective condition monitoring, repair, rehabilitation, and replacement for sewer agency classes of assets. Perform reliability engineering, efficiency, and root cause failure analysis as directed. Make recommendations for adjustments to maintenance and rehabilitation efforts working with Engineers andwork flowso directly support operations. Maintain and update asset risk standards for use in prioritizing maintenance, budgeting, and capital improvement efforts. Maintain and update workflows to ensure asset information from capital improvements is captured and maintenance plans are developed in a timely manner. Provide other asset management support to Operations staff members and coordinate efforts with other MSD departments including Engineering and Information Technology. Use, maintain, and improve data in the computerized maintenance management system. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor performance. Additional Responsibilities: In supervisor absence, may oversee subordinates. May perform related work as required or as delegated by supervisors. Qualifications Training and Experience : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering; AND a minimum of four years' experience as a licensed Professional Engineer. Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering and for Operations – Asset Management, knowledge of asset reliability principles. Comprehensive knowledge of District regulations and procedures applicable to sewer construction. Problem-solving and communication skills necessary to work effectively with contractors, engineers, and MSD staff to ensure the successful completion of these projects. Considerable knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and design software. Basic knowledge in accounting. Extensive skill in reading and interpreting complex engineering plans and specifications. Exceptional skill in maintaining records and preparing technical reports. Thorough skill in analyzing and integrating data. Considerable skill in communicating effectively both in oral and written form. Exceptional ability in forming and maintaining effective working relationships. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri, or ability to obtain the Missouri Professional Engineering License within 6 months of hire. Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee resides. Pursuant to MSD's "Substance Abuse Policy and Procedures," this position has been designated as safety-sensitive and candidate must pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test for this position. Employees occupying this position are not subject to Federal (D.O.T.) Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations. Employees of MSD must have a proficient or higher overall rating on last review. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering
  • A minimum of four years' experience as a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri, or ability to obtain the Missouri Professional Engineering License within 6 months of hire.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee resides.
  • Candidate must pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test for this position.
  • Employees of MSD must have a proficient or higher overall rating on last review.
