Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline, plus four (4) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience using Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or similar highway or transportation design software.

  • Experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on Roadway, Drainage, and Traffic projects
  • Ability and willingness to offer mentorship to various levels of staff
  • Ability and willingness to operate within a hybrid work schedule environment with hybrid teams
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in any state, or ability to obtain PE within 1 year of hire
  • Degree accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET

Responsibilities

  • Develop design criteria and produce roadway geometry, traffic control plans, signing and pavement marking layouts, drainage systems, and stormwater management solutions.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
  • Create technical reports, tables, and graphics in accordance with client requirements and AECOM standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Follow and promote AECOM quality assurance procedures.
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess existing project conditions.
  • Prepare presentations to communicate technical findings, recommendations, and constraints.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to meet project scope, budget, and schedule requirements through responsible and ethical decision‑making.
  • Support AECOM project managers and department managers with project execution.
