Snyder & Associates is looking to fill an internship in their Fort Dodge, Iowa office for the Fall of 2026. The project work for these roles will be related to a thriving construction season for our clients in these regions. For the right intern, there will be much to do and much to learn.

Requirements

  • Full-time college student majoring in civil or construction engineering.
  • Must have strong work ethic, demonstrated desire to learn from hands-on experiences working in a team.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, ability to work in a team and as an individual contributor
  • Able to manage activity through competing priorities.
  • Must be reliable - i.e. punctual, attentive to assigned responsibilities.
  • This can be a very client-centric role - must have strong people skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with a wide range of clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Any prior experience with construction or prior internships in civil engineering or construction engineering is a plus.
  • Any construction materials or DOT-related certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Will take on specific assignments from engineers, project managers and/or work group leaders.
  • Majority of time will be spent observing / inspecting active construction work on-site and reporting / communicating to project managers regarding status and progress of construction.
