About The Position

Passero Associates is seeking a Project Engineer level Civil Engineer to join our Atlanta area office. This position will support municipal, aviation, and site development projects throughout the Southeast region. The successful candidate will be responsible for civil site design, grading, stormwater management, and preparation of construction documents suitable for public bidding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited).
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required.
  • 3–7 years of relevant civil/site design experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surface modeling, grading tools, pipe networks, and plan production workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience independently developing grading plans, performing stormwater calculations, and preparing supporting drainage reports.
  • Experience preparing construction plan sets for public bid environments.
  • Working knowledge of Georgia EPD, GSMM and GSWCC regulations, and NPDES permitting (NOI process).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple design tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting project schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Experience leading design efforts on municipal, aviation, or publicly funded infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Georgia DOT standards, local Metro Atlanta and/or Macon-Bibb County Water Authority development regulations.
  • Experience with drainage modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, Hydraflow, ICPR, or similar).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary A/E project environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop civil engineering design documents from concept through final design.
  • Lead grading design strategy including drainage pattern development and constructability considerations.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (SCS/NRCS, time of concentration, pre/post analysis).
  • Design detention/retention systems and stormwater conveyance infrastructure.
  • Evaluate utility conflicts and coordinate with water/sewer authorities.
  • Prepare erosion and sedimentation control plans in accordance with Georgia EPD requirements.
  • Develop complete construction plan sets suitable for public/municipal bidding.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
  • Support permitting applications and agency coordination efforts.
  • Provide construction administration support as needed.
  • Provide technical oversight of CAD production and junior staff.
