About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Civil Project Engineer in St. Louis, MO, to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer on low to moderate complexity civil projects. You’ll partner with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight that supports positive client outcomes. You will also work within project budgets while training, mentoring, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the Civil Engineering and Construction industry required.
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong training and mentoring and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong training and mentoring skills
  • Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Perform more complex calculations based on assignment (e.g., hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, piling or rebar calculations, or calculations to balance site earthwork)
  • Oversee and assist with water and sewer system designs for smaller private and larger municipal systems
  • Prepare grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential site plans
  • Coordinate and oversee permit applications for a variety of municipalities
  • Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Interact with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build/maintain strong client relationships
  • Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and objectives; document design decisions and monitor progress (percent complete and fee expended)
  • Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultants
  • Provide in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG, industry, and client standards
  • Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance; interpret state and local design criteria; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions and escalate potential project problems to the Project Manager as needed
