About The Position

This Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) position offers a unique opportunity for highly motivated, innovative, and inspired engineers to work in a challenging assignment in the advance phase of automotive product development.   The KBE Surface Feasibility Engineer will be responsible for the rapid development of feasible product designs that meet styling intent, working daily with styling and studio engineering, while using the latest in parametric design engineering tools.   The position will be responsible for the creation of parametric KBE templates, the rapid development of Class A feasibility proposals, and creation of linked production-feasible inputs for vehicle-level associative parametric design. Responsible for developing feasible product designs that meet styling intent, working daily with Styling & Studio Engineering, while using the latest in parametric design engineering tools. The goal is to achieve styling requirements while assuring engineering feasibility and meeting quality standards.   The KBE engineer will develop and apply associative parametric templates in CATIA V5 and/or NX, in order to develop and analyze CAD geometry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (BSME, BSAE, BSEE)
  • Strong desire to grow a career in the automotive industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Experience with a fast-paced, collaborative, productive process driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive engineering experience in body exterior and BIW
  • Knowledge of vehicle and occupant packaging methods and requirements
  • Parametric design experience in Catia V5/3DX or NX
  • Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) experience highly desirable
  • Vehicle assembly process knowledge and system and component tooling and process experience
  • Knowledgeable in use of Teamcenter
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability
