About The Position

STR is hiring a Systems Administrator with an Active Secret or Top Secret clearance. Help power the infrastructure behind cutting-edge defense research. At STR, our Information Technology team plays a critical role in enabling the research and development that supports our national security mission. The team brings together experts across Enterprise IT, Classified IT, and Cybersecurity to build and maintain the secure, reliable infrastructure that powers our organization. Our Enterprise IT team ensures the performance and availability of the systems that support day-to-day operations, while our Classified IT team manages highly secure environments that protect sensitive government information. Working alongside them, our Cybersecurity team proactively defends our networks and systems against evolving threats. Together, these teams provide the technology foundation that enables STR’s engineers and researchers to develop innovative solutions for national defense. We are seeking a Systems Administrator with an active Secret or Top Secret clearance to support our senior administrators in implementing, deploying, and maintaining Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems in traditional and virtualized environments across a variety of hardware solutions. Requirements

  • This position requires an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is needed by U.S. Government
  • Linux Administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu)
  • Windows OS Administration
  • Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience or Master’s degree + 3 years of experience or PhD or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally support senior administrators, Information System Security Officers (ISSO), management, researchers and others supporting the customers
  • Configure and maintain NAS Storage, Networking, Firewall, and Directory Services such as MS Active Directory management and Group Policy administration
  • Perform performance monitoring, results analysis and enhancement, as well as process automation using PowerShell scripting and other available technologies
  • Provide daily support, systems maintenance, problem resolution, tracing and project support
  • Create and maintain installation and configuration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain current knowledge of DoD security and technical guidelines and the organization's policies
  • Provide support for production and development environments
  • After-hours support is required for maintenance and patching when needed
