About The Position

The Clerical Assistant provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth day-to-day departmental operations. This role supports staff, clinicians, and patients through data entry, reception coverage, scheduling, document preparation, and general office functions while maintaining a professional and customer-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum typing speed of 50 keystrokes per minute
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and reliability
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior clerical or administrative experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare or office environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform general clerical and administrative duties, including filing, indexing, data entry, and document management
  • Serve as a front-desk point of contact; greet patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
  • Schedule appointments and meetings; maintain calendars and coordinate logistics
  • Prepare, type, and format correspondence, reports, and other administrative documents
  • Operate standard office equipment, including computers, photocopiers, and fax machines
  • Enter data accurately while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Coordinate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff to support workflow
  • Respond to patient inquiries and provide assistance as needed
  • Perform additional clerical and administrative tasks as assigned
