As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Client Portfolio Manager who brings both deep investment acumen and a natural ability to translate complex strategies into clear, compelling conversations with clients. This position is based in our Chicago office and is designed for professionals who value proximity to investment teams and collaborative, in-person engagement. Candidates must be based in the Chicagoland area or open to relocation to Chicago. While the role supports a global client base and includes meaningful travel, Chicago is the center of gravity for our investment discussions, culture, and decision-making. This role sits at the center of D&P’s culture and operating model. Client Portfolio Managers are not removed from the investment process—they are extensions of the portfolio management teams. You will spend meaningful time with our CIO, PMs and analysts participating in research meetings, understanding portfolio construction and performance attribution, and staying close to the evolving themes shaping global real assets. That insight becomes the foundation for how you engage with institutional clients, consultants, intermediaries, and internal partners. Whether you are discussing positioning within a global real estate portfolio, explaining drivers of infrastructure performance, or responding to a bespoke client request, your credibility will come from having lived inside the strategy, not simply presenting it. Client Portfolio Managers work hand-in-hand with: portfolio management teams, serving as a trusted conduit between investment thinking and client communication; sales, marketing, and product partners, shaping how strategies are positioned and brought to market; and institutional and intermediary clients, often acting as the primary investment contact. This role is designed for an investment professional who has already built a strong foundation and is ready to operate at a higher level of impact. Successful candidates will bring 7–10 years of investment management experience, ideally in real assets; prior exposure to institutional clients and complex portfolios; comfort partnering closely with portfolio managers and engaging deeply on strategy, performance, and market dynamics; and the ability to write and speak clearly about investments—whether in a boardroom, client meeting, or thought leadership piece. CFA credentials, advanced degrees, and prior investment expertise experience is valued, but equally important is a mindset grounded in credibility, preparation, and intellectual honesty.
