Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a full time Clinic RN for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Franciscan Spine Associates in Tacoma, WA. Seeking a Registered Nurse with at least 6 months of clinic experience preferred to join our growing Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation clinic. As a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives. Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns. To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care. Delivers professional nursing care to clinic patients; performs diagnostic testing and related clinical procedures to appropriate level of training/scope of licensure and established procedures; independently triages nursing situations in accordance with standing orders/protocols; addresses more complex, urgent or emergent situations escalated from other clinic staff. Performs a variety of patient assessment/care tests (e.g. EKG, Spirometry, vision/hearing screening, peak flow, color blindness, etc.) in accordance with established protocols. Makes independent wound assessments and performs complex wound care and dressing changes, including placement or changing of wound vac); removes sutures or staples after wound assessment by a Provider. Inserts and/or removes tubes, drains, urinary catheters, including removal of peripherally-inserted central catheter (PICC); applies splints/braces. Instructs patients in the collection of samples and other tests; ensures that patient or family understands follow-up and referral information. Informs patients of lab results, calls in prescriptions to pharmacies and returns practitioners’ phone messages.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • One year RN work experience in a clinic setting OR two years of acute care RN work experience
