Requirements

  • PhD preferred. Minimum of Master's in statistics, mathematics, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • R, SPSS, Minitab, or other commonly used software for analytics.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of grant funding processes, procedures, and techniques.
  • Ability to perform moderately complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, with all levels of staff and the general public; and maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to acquire an understanding of organization and department policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Strong administrative, leadership, and team management skills; able to develop highly successful teams, foster teamwork, effective monitoring, motivating, training, and mentoring of staff.

  • Ability to travel locally with incumbent’s own reliable transportation; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation, per Easterseals of Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the bridge between the clinical and IT department to guide data encoding, storage, and retrieval for ongoing analytics and predictive modeling.
  • Establishes and uses data mining for ongoing analytics for organizationally defined priorities in collaboration with IT department.
  • Leads the development and sustainment of predictive analytic processes and outcomes for organizational priorities.
  • Provides on-the-job mentorship to Research Assistants and other associates conducting research.
  • Provides statistical consultation and support to all PIs at the organization.
  • Conducts inferential statistics for various initiatives (including but not limited to research).
  • Provides descriptive statistics for various initiatives (including but not limited to research).
  • Performs statistical analyses using packaged statistical program (statistical analyses may include, but are not limited to, inferential, descriptive analysis, linear, logistic, Poisson, and multinomial regression modeling, and survival analysis with competing risks).
  • Establishes a clinical and organizational database for ongoing analytics.
  • Provides consultation to leaders across the organization on ways to meet their analytic needs efficiently.
  • Provides reports of analytics on a quarterly basis.
  • Serves as an advisor and member of a team that designs, develops and/or modifies existing software to help solve routine and novel scientific analytical problems.
  • Identify and select analytic software tools for the organization.
  • Develops training and trains researchers and clinicians on various inferential statistics methods.
  • Develop and conduct training in statistical procedures applied to research programs by means of in-service training or identification of outside training resources.
  • Provides consultation to leaders across ESSC on ways to meet their analytic needs efficiently.
  • Predictive modeling.
  • Consumes data from data warehouse and creates structure and rules on how to use the data to answer research objectives identified by the various leaders within autism services. This will assist organization in pursuing a population health strategy.
