About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: The primary role of the Clinical Application Specialist (CAS) will be to provide in-depth product support, education, training, and advice on the application and use of all Heidelberg Engineering devices. As part of the training process, the CAS will consult with eye care clinics to recommend imaging policies and procedures to optimize workflow and clinic efficiencies as well as troubleshoot with users through software and hardware issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CAS: Provide initial on-site installation, training, and follow-up training on all Heidelberg Engineering devices. Provide support to doctors, photographers, and technicians regarding product inquiries and problem-solve as required. Ensure that the product applications are functioning according to specifications. Understand customers’ requirements for their projects/clinical needs and customize training and product specifications accordingly. Support educational program activities including regional and online courses or webinars. Provide technical and demonstration support at trade shows and events. Perform quality check of hardware and software to ensure quality installation. This may entail calibration and computer networking. Must be located in one of the following areas: Chicago, IL or Minneapolis, MN

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in biomedical imaging, photography (or equivalent education/work experience)
  • 5-10 years ophthalmic photography experience required.
  • Previous training experience required.
  • Angiography experience required, ICGA experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and diseases.
  • MS Office operating system, computer hardware, computer configurations, data storage and management, and networking knowledge required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Travel required up to 80%.

Nice To Haves

  • CRA, or OCT-C certification preferred.
  • ICGA experience preferred.
