The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy seeks a clinical faculty member (Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) for a 12-month, non-tenure track position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at its Jackson, MS campus (UMMC). This role is part of a collaborative Internal Medicine Pharmacy Initiative, integrating pharmacy services into hospitalist teams to improve patient outcomes, reduce length of stay, and enhance transitions of care. Responsibilities include providing clinical care on the hospitalist service, participating in interdisciplinary rounds, teaching in the PharmD curriculum, precepting students and residents, and contributing to research and scholarship. This position is not eligible for tenure. The position is based in Jackson, Mississippi, at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy campus at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) and is part of a collaborative Internal Medicine Pharmacy Initiative between UMMC and UMSOP. The position will be part of a shared faculty model to provide hospitalist team coverage designed to target collaboration among inpatient and ambulatory care providers aimed at improving inpatient Length of Stay (LOS) and Transitions of Care (TOC) for hospitalized patients through the integration of pharmacy services into a hospitalist team. The successful candidate will be a part of a collaborative hospitalist pharmacy team consisting of two UMSOP faculty members embedded into the interdisciplinary hospitalist service at UMMC, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes, generating cost savings, and contributing to scholarly research.
