Responsibilities The Clinical Care Attendant supports providers by assisting with clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role includes patient intake, vital sign collection, performing point-of-care tests, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a smooth patient experience from arrival to checkout. The attendant acts as a key team member, facilitating communication between patients, providers, and staff while maintaining compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Current Iowa certification as EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or CMA
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – accredited program with certification (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, NCMA, NAHP, AAH, ARMA or NHCA)
  • Clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet, register, and room patients; collect vital signs and patient history.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
  • Provide patient education and comfort, review after-visit instructions, and conduct follow-up calls.
  • Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and clinic logs per protocol.
  • Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and staff effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and safety standards.
  • Participate in clinic meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
