SUMMARY: The Clinical Coordinator is a member of the full-time core faculty (rank commensurate with experience) who is granted release time to serve an administrative appointment overseeing the practicum and internship portion of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to classroom instruction, selection of student clinical sites and placements, monitoring students in group supervision classes, investigating agencies for qualifying criteria, meeting with site supervisors, serving as liaison between the University and clinical agencies, responding to inquiries regarding practicum and internship, and ensuring CACREP standards and the South University Mission are upheld in all areas of the program. The Clinical Coordinator engages in professional associations, businesses, and the local community as necessary to promote the visibility and stature of the program. The Program Director abides by the mandates set by the South University Board of Trustees, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, the Campus President or Director, and the Campus Executive Committee.
