About The Position

The Clinical Diet Technician serves as a member of the Food and Nutrition team and works as part of the interdisciplinary team within Cook Children's Medical Center Prosper (CCMCP). Screens patients for nutritional risk, completes nutrient intake analyses, and assists with menus for special diets. Provides basic nutrition education and formula instruction to parents or other family members based on goals, preferences, learning barriers, and readiness while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights. Process enteral formula orders for patients, develop recipes according to order, prepare, deliver and stock enteral formula in patient care areas to meet the needs of the medical center. Maintains and acquires formula room stock. Participates in special projects which support and contribute to the requirements of quality care and the department. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, or Associate's Degree in Dietetic Technology

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric training or experience desired.
  • Registration with American Dietetic Association for Dietetic Technician preferred.
