The Clinical Director of Home Health provides oversight and coordination of the clinical and operational divisions of the home health agency. This role manages all patient care services and personnel including nursing, home health aides, medical social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology staff and contractors. The Clinical Director ensures that patient care is coordinated effectively through appropriate assignments, referrals, and the development and implementation of individualized plans of care. The Clinical Director assists with oversight of safety and infection control programs, chart audits, and medical supplies while ensuring that medical records are maintained appropriately. This role assures that all clinical disciplines function according to licensure requirements, state law, and Medicare/Medicaid standards for Home Health services. The Clinical Director works closely with the Administrator to support the overall operation of the agency and may act on behalf of the Administrator when authorized. Home Health care focuses on delivering skilled nursing and therapy services to patients in their place of residence. The goal of home health services is to promote independence, recovery, and improved health outcomes while allowing patients to remain safely in their homes.
