About The Position

The Clinical Informaticist, RN will identify opportunities to optimize the utilization of the clinical information system workflow for clinical processes. This position requires an understanding of ambulatory and/or hospital clinical processes. The Clinical Informaticist, RN collaborates with others to create and maintain end user support for Epic’s clinical and clinical ancillary applications. The Clinical Informaticist, RN will function as a liaison between nursing, other clinical disciplines and Information Services, collaborate with the medical informatics team to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of clinical technologies on patient care and identify optimization opportunities. This position serves as a liaison for clinicians to facilitate a common understanding of information system needs, end user processes, interoperability, and alignment with the organizational and The University of Vermont Health Network (UVMHN) System goals.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or higher strongly preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • A demonstrated interest in Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) either through course work, experience in a hospital with the selection or implementation of a clinical information system, or through serving as a HIT super user or educator.
