Clinical Lab Instructor
About The Position
Orbis Education has partnered with Madonna University in Southfield by offering an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. Students complete theory instruction via online learning, nursing skills in the lab and simulation environment and their clinical rotations in the Detroit area. We are seeking a full-time instructor to oversee students in the clinical and lab settings. As Clinical Lab Instructor, the primary responsibility is the implementation of the academic programs in the clinical and lab environments. Instructors are assigned teaching responsibilities in a clinical or lab course and are expected to contribute to achievement of the missions of teaching, research, and service. As a Clinical/Lab Instructor and faculty member of an Extended Campus, the primary responsibility is the implementation of the academic programs. Nursing Instructors are assigned teaching responsibilities in a clinical or lab course and are expected to contribute to achievement of the missions of teaching, research, and service. Faculty is accountable to the Director, Nursing Services (DNS) and a university partner academic leader. Academic Partner: Madonna University, Accelerated BSN Program Location: 25925 Telegraph Road, Southfield, MI Schedule: Full time, benefits eligible, Mon-Fri standard business hours
Requirements
- MSN degree from an NLN or CCNE-accredited institution
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 3 years recent nursing practice (as defined by accrediting bodies or the state board of nursing).
- Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in state of clinical site location and eligibility for RN licensure in state of educational partner.
- Additional requirements as directed by all accrediting bodies and/or the state board of nursing.
- Compliance with university and health care partner requirements.
- Must pass background investigation.
Nice To Haves
- Three years didactic, clinical, or online teaching experience preferred
- Nursing specialty certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective student learning in the appropriate clinical/lab setting and via the online learning environment.
- Provide adequate guidance for students in the clinical/lab setting related to professionalism, practice, and research.
- Ensure effective evaluations of student practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment.
- Provide feedback about the teaching/learning process to Course Coordinators when designated by administrators.
- Provide feedback on progress to DNS and ABSN Director.
- Contribute to academic program.
- Participate in the development and progress of the academic programs by contributing to the development of curriculum, teaching materials, and evaluation measures.
- Collaborate with the DNS and complete assignments as requested.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare partner and its staff.
- Maintain and teach nursing knowledge
- Maintain current knowledge of the extended campuses nursing curriculum, policies, and requirements.
- Maintains clinical competence and knowledge in area of expertise.
