About The Position

Organization: ABSMC-Summit Campus Position Overview: This position may be required to perform tests in all areas of the Clinical Laboratory including, but not limited to: Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis and limited Microbiology. EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Bachelor's: from four-year college or university; and one year training or equivalent combination of education and experience meeting state requirements from four-year college or university; and one year training or equivalent combination of education and experience meeting state requirements.
Requirements
- Knowledge of laboratory test methods, specimen requirements, test limitations, test interpretations sufficient to perform tests accurately and to recognize and analyze problems effectively.
- Skill in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments.
- Skill in performing manual and automated test procedures.
- Skill in computer keyboard data entry/retrieval.
- Skill in the recognition and analysis of problems in laboratory test performance, calibration and QC.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers.
- Skill in phlebotomy.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, and analysis of variance.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
