About The Position

Clinical Laboratory Accessioner This is an onsite, in-office position at Geneoscopy HQ in St. Louis, Missouri. The Clinical Laboratory Accessioner will be responsible for performing receiving, accessioning, and general lab activities for Geneoscopy's CLIA laboratory. This work includes receiving and preparing patient samples for testing by Clinical Laboratory Scientists as well as general laboratory setup and maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and comply with required standard operating procedures.
  • Exemplify a proven ability to learn and collaborate with others in a complex, multi-functional and specialty environment.
  • Possess experience in a CLIA laboratory setting handling patient samples and PHI.
  • Exemplify the ability to multitask and thrive in an agile, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
  • Possess proficient verbal and written communication skills, while willing to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization to achieve the desired results.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that patient stool samples are received and accessioned according to Geneoscopy's laboratory procedures for downstream processing and testing. This includes receiving samples from the shipper, determining sample suitability for testing, preparation of specimen labels, and aliquoting of samples into tubes for testing and documentation of such activities in the LIMS.
  • Provide general laboratory support such as tube labeling, equipment cleaning and maintenance, biohazard waste removal, and consumables stocking.
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect proper processing of samples and notifying the General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, or Laboratory Director
  • Other duties as assigned.
