About The Position

We are seeking a talented Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (CLS II) Generalist to join our team. The CLS II will perform laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Who are we? We are the go-to laboratory for comprehensive testing, offering clinical bloodwork, pharmacogenomics (PGx) testing, infectious disease testing, and toxicology testing. We are committed to delivering fast, accurate, and actionable results. This position is based in Orange, California, with working hours from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and/or equivalent training for California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
  • Valid and Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist’s license issued by the State of California Department of Health Services.
  • Minimum 1-year prior preferred experience in a clinical laboratory setting or related work environment to include: specialized and complex analysis, quality control, calibration, QC evaluation, inventory control, preventative maintenance, quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
  • Previous experience and a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to follow precise directions in situation requiring speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Ability to work as part of a team, capable of working under deadlines without sacrificing quality, and the willingness to train in other areas of the lab.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, reliable, and able to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to handle biological materials.
  • Familiarity with CLIA and CAP regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analytical tests and procedures, recognizing deviations from expected results and taking appropriate actions to maintain accuracy and precision.
  • Onsite maintenance/troubleshooting of Sciex instruments as required
  • Follow established procedures, evaluate and solve problems related to specimen collection and processing for analysis.

  • Ensure that all documentation provided associated with test results, maintenance records, and quality control are detailed, accurate and legible
  • Monitor Quality Control data, taking action based on data as needed.
  • Supervise laboratory technicians during testing processes to ensure compliance with SOPs and regulations.
  • Ensure that instruments are running at their optimum performance through routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in training and orientation of laboratory staff.
  • Assist in composing, reviewing, updating, and revising SOPs.
  • Monitor equipment performance through QA/QC procedures.
  • Conduct activities in compliance with CLIA and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Adheres to laboratory safety practices, including but not limited to OSHA blood-borne pathogens, HIPAA, and hazardous chemicals training and monitoring.
  • Identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions, and practices so that they may be corrected prior to an incident.
