About The Position

The Clinical Lung Transplant Coordinator fulfills the primary responsibilities of coordinating the multidisciplinary approach in the evaluation, treatment, and facilitation of the transplant process, including follow-up care for organ recipients and donors. The role emphasizes collaboration, coordination, and consultation with nursing leadership, primary nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless transplant care. The Clinical Lung Transplant Coordinator manages the complex transplant process by organizing multidisciplinary efforts, ensuring compliance with protocols, and supporting both patient and donor care. This position acts as a liaison among team members, fostering collaboration and contributing to positive patient outcomes throughout the transplant journey. The coordinator plays a vital role in tracking care activities, managing projects, and providing education to patients and families.

Requirements

  • Associates of Nursing (ASN) required.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Demonstrated clinical competency and leadership skills.
  • Clinical practice experience related to transplant programs.
  • Strong organizational, writing, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • ASN RNs hired after January 1, 2013, must complete their BSN within five (5) years of hire.
  • Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per department policies.

Responsibilities
