The Clinical Medical Office Assistant position is part of the Wound Care Clinic and is a full-time role working approximately 72 hours per two week pay period. This position supports the daily operations of the practice by performing a blend of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality service. The role assists with clinical care while also managing primary phone communications, insurance verification and coordination, appointment scheduling, and general front office responsibilities. The position works closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to provide coordinated, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include patient intake, exam preparation assistance, routine clinical procedures, management of the main office phone line, insurance verification and pre-certifications, accurate EMR documentation, and general office operations, all while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and strong communication in a busy outpatient environment. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent BLS certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment Knowledge of infection prevention principles Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional interpersonal abilities Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, Windows navigation, email, and EMR use Ability to operate standard office equipment (fax, scanner, copier, telephone) Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology preferred Working knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes preferred Ability to prioritize, make decisions based on urgency, and work independently Demonstrated initiative, dependability, and commitment to teamwork Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care under the direction of licensed staff Perform clinical tasks such as obtaining medical histories, recording vital signs, preparing exam rooms, collecting laboratory specimens, and assisting with diagnostic/treatment procedures Perform clerical and front desk functions including greeting patients, answering and managing the main phone line, verifying insurance information, scheduling appointments, obtaining pre-certifications, and completing daily computer entry tasks Support patient flow and coordinate care with nursing staff and ancillary departments Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the EMR Wyandot Memorial Hospital is a proud, independent community hospital serving Upper Sandusky and the surrounding region since 1950. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
