About The Position

As the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, you will assist the Director of Pharmacy in managing clinical activities for patients in acute and critical care areas. Supervises and manages pharmacists and technical staff in activities related to the delivery of clinical pharmacy services and assists in management of patient transitions to other levels of care; acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department staff.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Licensed in the State of Arizona or will consider candidates eligible for Arizona licensure; BLS required, ACLS preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience with a focus in acute and/or critical care; prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive, current knowledge of acute/critical care medication use management, age-appropriate therapy, and other information as it pertains to provision of direct pharmaceutical patient care.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate scientific literature and appropriately apply to clinical practice.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, to sit 50% of the time, stand and walk 50%; lift object weighing up to 10 pounds, feel, see, hear, smell, speak, and handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload/schedule.
  • Able to set priorities and solve problems, respond quickly to emergency requests and communicate orally and in writing effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of ASHP-accredited residency (PGY-1 and/or PGY-2) and/or Board Certification (e.g., BCPS, BCCCP).

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for clinical pharmacy operations in acute and critical care settings.
  • Mentor and develop pharmacists and technical staff to promote clinical excellence and professional growth.
  • Serve as a drug information resource for medical, nursing, and ancillary staff.
  • Participate in hospital committees, performance improvement initiatives, and departmental education programs.
  • Manage clinical schedules, budgets, and staff competencies.
  • Contribute to formulary management, pharmacoeconomic reviews, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee activities.
  • Support pharmacy residency and student training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and promote safe, cost-effective medication use.
