Job Summary: This position requires an experienced BCBA who has extensive experience and advanced training in the assessment and treatment of severe challenging behavior within a residential setting. Qualifications include, but are not limited to, advanced expertise in functional analysis, empirically validated behavior reduction strategies, reinforcement-based interventions, crisis management, and staff training/support. The candidate must maintain the ability to lead a highly engaged, collaborative, and accountable behavioral support team while ensuring compliance with regulatory, ethical, and best practice standards for intensive behavioral services within a residential setting. Successful candidates design, implement, and monitor comprehensive behavior support plans informed by functional assessment data. They demonstrate expertise in addressing severe challenging behavior including the following: aggression self-injurious behavior, property destruction, elopement, and other high-risk behaviors. The BCBA prioritizes safety, trauma informed care, skill acquisition, independence and improved quality of life. Interventions are implemented with a focus on reducing the need for restrictive practices. The candidate will conduct, administer, evaluate, and oversee comprehensive behavioral assessments (e.g., PFA, Vineland, AFLS and other relevant tools) to identify the strengths, needs, and behavioral functions of individuals living in high behavior needs group home settings. This includes individuals with severe and complex challenging behaviors. Assessment findings directly inform the development of individualized behavior support plans, guide the selection of function-based interventions, skill acquisition goals, and support strategies that promote safe independence across the home, community, and structured program environments. Additionally, the candidate provides effective clinical leadership and oversight to ensure staff are trained and competent in implementing behavior support plans, crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies, and evidence based behavioral interventions for individuals with significant behavioral needs. The deliver ongoing coaching, modeling, and performance feedback to direct care staff to maintain high treatment fidelity in the residential environment.
