About The Position

Primary Function: The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of his/her particular program including administration, clinical, and supervisory responsibilities. The clinical supervisor manages clinical staff and schedules by offering oversight and support to ensure the persons served are receiving the most appropriate and effective quality of care. As well as day to day activities are in accordance with program objectives and in compliance with standards.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree or Post Master’s Degree with a from an accredited college or university with a major chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or a related field of study
  • LCSW, LPCMH, LMFT, or Psychologist Required
  • Full certification as a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC) or certified co-occurring professional (CCDP) in the State of Delaware or by a nationally recognized organization in addictions counseling or working towards it.
  • Five years of documented clinical experience in substance use treatment field
  • At two years of mental health experience

  • Strategically and therapeutically manage caseload

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of the therapist’s accuracy of assessment and referral skills on all persons served evaluations and any ongoing treatment plans.
  • Review of the appropriateness of the treatment or service selected relative to the specific needs of each person served.
  • Review each person’s served record with the therapist as often as necessary, and in conjunction with recovery plan review and revision and no less often than at the intervals specified by each modality for which the program is licensed.
  • Critique of the service effectiveness as measured by the person’s served meeting his/her person treatment goals.
  • Specific, written clinical recommendations on how to proceed with the case.
  • Resources on risk factors for suicide and other dangerous behaviors.
  • Face-to-face feedback or telecommunication feedback by the direct supervisor or a pre-selected clinical team to enhance the skills of the direct service person served.
  • Feedback on issues concerning ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional standards, and professional boundaries directly in supervision meetings and formally in Aquila in-service trainings.
  • Identification and remediation of any and all compliance issues related to clinical documentation.
  • Identification of any cultural competencies issues on the part of the direct service person and plan for appropriate training and/or corrective actions.
  • Signing off with the credentials on all the required documentation within the required time for the program modality.
  • Using a monitoring tool to measure compliance and actions needed for improvements.
