About The Position

In supporting the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic, you will perform complex administrative/management support tasks with discretionary authority within a community-facing clinic, focuses on patient interaction at the front desk, providing assistance with check-in processes, insurance verification, maintain a welcoming environment, responsible for medical billing and supporting speech clinical staff with administrative tasks (grad student MS SLP support services).

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Daily operations of (speech) of UW Speech and Hearing Clinic. Front desk presence shared with that of hearing side staff. (cross trained with hearing clinic)
  • Process new clients, schedule appointments, operate within selected electronic medical record systems (EMR); maintain the EMR, confidential medical filing/process
  • Pre-authorize speech clients with insurance companies and communicate additional requests or needs with the client/client care giver; process billing/collect payments
  • Process clinician licensure and cert. process, credentialing; student tracking and communication of certifications
  • Serve as point of contact for specialized speech technology (VR equip, Valt service, iPad + laptop updates)
  • Graduate Student Clinician point of contact for guidance, to include technology, scheduling rooms, posting + updating Job Boards
  • Supporting Speech Clinical Director as directed. (maintaining/storage of speech toys after clinical sessions, maintaining test library, risk mgt processes)
  • Familiarity with/ability to learn complex cloud-based data management system for billing/scheduling/tracking visits/other. Troubleshooting and updating as rolled out.
  • Assist with clinic problem resolution and special projects (marketing)
  • Support clinical directors in graduate student orientation + other events
  • Payment of clinical site placement honorariums
