About The Position

The Business Systems Analyst — Clinical Systems is a senior individual contributor responsible for the administration, configuration, and ongoing optimization of the organization’s clinical technology platforms — with Ensora (formerly Therapy Brands) as the primary system — and for driving the requirements, prioritization, and delivery roadmap for internally developed clinical software, including a proprietary EMR built specifically for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment. It will also own other clinical systems around the company. This role sits at the intersection of clinical operations, product thinking, and technical systems work. The ideal candidate understands how EMR and data collection platforms function in an ABA or behavioral health environment, can engage meaningfully with developers and data engineers on integration design and data flow, and brings the business analysis discipline to manage a structured backlog, run requirements sessions, and shepherd enhancements from intake through delivery. This is not a purely functional or purely technical role — it requires equal comfort sitting with clinical operations leaders to map out a workflow and sitting with an engineering team to articulate how data should move between systems. Experience in ABA, behavioral health, or a clinical setting is preferred.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst, Clinical Systems Analyst, or similar role within a healthcare, behavioral health, or ABA-adjacent technology environment.
  • Demonstrated experience administering or working closely with an EMR, practice management, or clinical data collection platform — in an ABA, behavioral health, or similar clinical setting strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of clinical service delivery workflows: authorization management, scheduling, session documentation, data collection, and billing handoff — or comparable clinical operations experience with willingness to develop ABA domain expertise rapidly.
  • Experience conducting structured requirements-gathering sessions, producing BRDs, user stories, and functional specifications, and managing a product or system backlog.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to decompose complex clinical or operational workflows into discrete system and data requirements.
  • Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations, PHI data handling requirements, and security controls relevant to clinical IT systems.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills — comfortable working across clinical, operational, Finance, and technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience administering Ensora (formerly Therapy Brands), CentralReach, Catalyst, WebABA, or a comparable ABA-specific platform.
  • BCBA credential or meaningful direct experience working within an ABA clinical environment — combined with demonstrated technical systems experience.
  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or X12 EDI standards and their relevance to behavioral health or ABA payer integrations.
  • Experience with Agile or structured product delivery methodologies, including backlog management, sprint planning, and release coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Ensora (or equivalent ABA/behavioral health platform), with full ownership of system configuration, user management, role architecture, and environment governance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Ensora support escalations, vendor relationship management, and feature request advocacy.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration logs, and change management records in accordance with IT governance standards.
  • Own the intake and triage process for new feature requests, enhancement ideas, and bug reports related to the organization’s proprietary ABA EMR — ensuring all items are captured, categorized, and prioritized in a structured backlog.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with clinical operations, BCBAs, billing, and administrative stakeholders; translate clinical workflows and operational needs into clear, actionable business and functional requirements.
  • Produce high-quality requirements documentation, including Business Requirements Documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow diagrams, and data flow specifications for development consumption.
  • Partner with the engineering and product team to refine the development backlog, define sprint scope, and ensure requirements are understood and implementable before development begins.
  • Serve as the day-to-day liaison between clinical operations and the development team — translating domain knowledge into technical requirements and translating technical constraints back to clinical stakeholders.
  • Monitor post-release adoption and performance of new EMR features; gather feedback, identify gaps, and feed findings back into the backlog and prioritization process.
  • Partner with clinical operations leadership, BCBAs, and administrative teams to map current-state clinical and operational workflows; identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for system-enabled improvement.
  • Ensure platform configurations comply with applicable regulatory and payer requirements relevant to ABA services.
  • Serve as Tier-2 application support for Ensora and the proprietary ABA EMR; triage, diagnose, and resolve complex functional issues escalated from clinical or administrative users.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles for platform users and the IT team.
  • Facilitate communication and change management around system updates, new features, and process changes to minimize disruption to clinical operations.

Benefits

  • 21 paid days off (15 days of PTO, which increases with tenure, plus 6 holidays).
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) options.
  • Medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life insurance.
  • Generous 401(k) with up to 6% employer match.
