About The Position

The Clinical Transplant Coordinator fulfills the primary responsibilities of coordinating the multidisciplinary approach in the evaluation, treatment, and facilitation of the transplant process, including follow-up care for organ recipients and donors. The role emphasizes collaboration, coordination, and consultation with nursing leadership, primary nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless transplant care. ________________________________________ Position Overview: The Clinical Transplant Coordinator manages the complex transplant process by organizing multidisciplinary efforts, ensuring compliance with protocols, and supporting both patient and donor care. This position acts as a liaison among team members, fostering collaboration and contributing to positive patient outcomes throughout the transplant journey. The coordinator plays a vital role in tracking care activities, managing projects, and providing education to patients and families.

Requirements

  • Associates of Nursing (ASN) required.
  • ASN RNs hired after January 1, 2013, must complete their BSN within five (5) years of hire.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per department policies.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency and leadership skills.
  • Clinical practice experience related to transplant programs.
  • Strong organizational, writing, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • At least 2 years of clinical RN experience strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Critical Care experience preferred
