As a Cloud FinOps & DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing one of Solventum’s largest areas of investment: cloud infrastructure. You will drive financial discipline across cloud platforms while building tooling, automation, and AI enabled solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and decision making across engineering and product teams. You will make an impact by: Driving engineered cloud savings, cost transparency, and forecasting accuracy across AWS and emerging multi-cloud environments Identifying spend anomalies, managing Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, and partnering with engineering teams to implement cost‑efficient technical changes. Clearly communicating cloud cost forecasts, anomalies, budgets, and risk drivers to enable timely, informed decision‑making across the organization. Designing and delivering automation, tooling, dashboards, and platform solutions that support FinOps, DevSecOps, and broader Cloud Technology objectives Enabling adoption of AI assisted workflows that improve productivity, analysis, and operational outcomes for yourself and others Providing technical guidance, standards, and implementation support to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable cloud solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, FinOps, or platform operations
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services, including cost management, compute, storage, and managed services
  • Experience designing or supporting automation, scripting, or tooling (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines)
  • 2 years of Cloud cost observability tooling experience (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Trusted Advisor) to investigate spend drivers and support anomaly/root-cause workflows
  • Strong executive‑level presentation skill with experience presenting to senior leadership and large audiences, and the ability to clearly articulate complex topics, manage ad‑hoc questions, and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong understanding of production systems, operational reliability, and risk‑aware change management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and finance teams
  • 1+ years of experience using AI / generative AI tools to accelerate workflows, including speeding up analysis, automating repetitive tasks, and producing reusable playbooks/templates that improve team productivity
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FinOps practices, engineered savings, or cloud financial governance
  • Discount and commitment optimization experience (Reserved Instances / Savings Plans), including monitoring coverage/utilization and supporting commitment strategy decisions
  • Experience building and maintaining reporting using BI tools (e.g., AWS QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience working with SQL‑based datasets and advanced Excel analysis (e.g., joins, aggregations, pivot tables)
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps platforms, CI/CD enablement, observability, or security standards
  • Experience working in multi‑cloud or cloud‑agnostic architectures
