This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Silo Ridge Field Club, set in Amenia, New York. Silo Ridge Field Club is seeking a Club Development Intern to join the Construction and Development Department. The Club Development Intern role provides an opportunity for hands-on experience in data analysis, business processes, and decision support within a dynamic business environment. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to real-world projects that impact the organization's success. Our growth-oriented company is dedicated to providing you with valuable learning opportunities as you share your ideas and creativity with the team. In this position, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a field related to internship: Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Real Estate Management, Sports Management or Operations.
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated with an e agerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency MS Office Programs.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Must conduct business in a professional and ethical manner with all team members, potential buyers, external business associates and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects.

Responsibilities

  • General Intern Duties
  • Observe and interact with various professionals.
  • Attending staff and departmental meetings on an ongoing basis and any appropriate management or coordination meetings.
  • Complete, update, and distribute communications of various types.
  • Solicit feedback from multiple project participants and following direction.
  • Assist with the department responsibilities.
  • Assist appointment manager with duties and responsibilities, support additional team members.
  • Perform daily administrative functions.
  • Other assignments as needed and assigned.
  • Rotations to different departments:
  • Development & Construction: Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to business objectives. Support the creation and maintenance of business process documentation, including workflows, requirements, and user stories. Conduct industry analysis to contribute insights for decision-making and strategic planning. Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing findings and recommendations to internal teams or stakeholders. Assist in generating reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
  • Club Operations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and contribute to problem-solving discussions. Shadow General Manger/Assistant General Manager with overseeing daily operations in: Food & Beverage, Outdoor Pursuits, Residential Services, Member Experience. Learn how success is measured and celebrated across the project. Observe how Mission, Vision and Values is intentionally built into daily club business.
  • Finance Assist with financial modeling. Assist with bank reconciliation. Provide general accounting support. Help with accounts receivable management. Provide support for annual budgeting process. Assist with statistical analysis and other special projects.
