About The Position

Mount Holyoke College’s Athletics Department is seeking part-time Club Coaches to guide our dedicated student-athletes. This is more than just coaching; it’s fostering athletic excellence, leadership development, and personal growth within a collaborative club sports environment. If you have a passion for your sport and a commitment to mentorship, this is your chance to coach a team of motivated, bright student leaders. You’ll be a direct mentor to exceptional student athletes, helping them shape their athletic and leadership journeys. This role requires approximately 6-8 hours per week during the academic year, primarily during weekday evenings. It’s the perfect opportunity for local experts, recent graduates, or passionate individuals seeking involvement outside of a standard 9-to-5. You'll work closely with student-run club boards, collaborating on decisions and fostering an inclusive team culture. Requirements

  • Proven experience playing and/or coaching your sport.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – you can clearly teach a technique and motivate a group.
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion and the ability to support an environment where all student-athletes feel valued.
  • Familiarity with the rules, trends, and compliance requirements within your sport.
  • Must be able to work weeknights/weekends as needed and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and executing engaging, high-quality practices focused on fundamentals, strategy, conditioning, and safety.
  • Mentoring student leaders and collaborating with them on team vision and day-to-day decisions.
  • Championing an inclusive team culture that supports the holistic growth (academic, athletic, and personal) of every student-athlete.
  • Ensuring safety by supervising drills, maintaining equipment, and upholding all facility and departmental policies.
  • Supporting the team at all practices and competitions (potential weeknight and weekend flexibility required).
  • Listed as the PE Club Course Instructor and certify PE credits in collaboration with the Assistant Athletic Director.
