About The Position

The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant supports providers in outpatient and hospital settings by delivering high‑quality clinical and administrative care. This role ensures smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and excellent patient service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification required.
  • Graduate of an accredited MA program.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Basic computer and EHR skills.
  • Knowledge of vital signs, EKGs, infection control, and medical terminology.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs independently and up to 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Frequent hand and wrist movements; prolonged computer use.
  • Visual acuity required for documentation and computer work.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete patient intakes, vital signs, and medical history updates.
  • Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic tests.
  • Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection.
  • Process lab samples and point‑of-care tests.
  • Maintain infection control, safety standards, and equipment readiness.
  • Support triage, care coordination, and patient education.
  • Document accurately in the EHR.
  • Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and track test results.
  • Verify insurance and assist with authorizations and billing tasks.
  • Prepare exam rooms and monitor supply inventory.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive patient care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
