Requirements

  • Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Georgia.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program with demonstrated competency in patient care.
  • Basic knowledge of hospice care principles and end-of-life patient needs.
  • Ability to pass background checks and meet health screening requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in hospice or palliative care settings.
  • Additional certifications such as CPR and First Aid.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Experience providing culturally sensitive care to diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Monitor and report changes in patients’ physical or emotional condition to the nursing staff promptly.
  • Provide comfort measures such as repositioning patients to prevent bedsores and assisting with pain management techniques as directed.
  • Support family members by offering respite care and emotional support during difficult times.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and patient observations in compliance with hospice policies and regulatory standards.
