About The Position

Serves as the F-35 Class Desk Manager at Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic in direct support of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program Office (JSFPO). Acts as the primary technical liaison among Carrier Air Wings, Fighter Air Wings, Marine Aircraft Groups, Depot-level maintenance activities, and the COMNAVAIRFOR Engineering Class Desk to ensure coordinated and effective support of fleet F-35B and F-35C aircraft.
Provides expert technical assistance and authoritative aircraft design data to support decisions related to aircraft deployment, distribution, and operational utilization. Advises leadership on engineering and material readiness issues affecting fleet operations and sustainment.
Supports the Strike Division and the Director of Aircraft Material and Engineering by addressing the full spectrum of aircraft engineering, maintenance, and material challenges. Responsible for engineering and material management of all F-35B/C airframe and avionics systems and subsystems, ensuring aircraft safety, readiness, and lifecycle support across the fleet.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance (required)
• Education: Bachelor's degree (required)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the principal technical point of contact for F-35B/C aircraft engineering and material issues.
• Coordinate engineering and maintenance actions across operational units, depots, and program offices.
• Provide technical analysis and aircraft design data to inform fleet deployment and utilization decisions.
• Manage material and engineering oversight for F-35B/C airframe and avionics systems and subsystems.
• Advise senior leadership on aircraft readiness, sustainment, and engineering risk.
• Ensure alignment between fleet requirements and program office engineering initiatives.
