Schafer Industries is currently seeking a 2nd shift CNC ID / OD Grinding Machinist for its Schafer Gear Works operation in Roscoe Illinois. $1000 sign on bonus. 401K match. Job Summary: Set up, adjust, and operate conventional or computer numeric controlled internal and/or external grinders to grind surfaces of exacting dimensional and finish requirements. Edit and prove programs and/or manually program at the machine computer console. Dress wheels to obtain desired contours. Maintains a high productivity rate and constantly strives to improve productivity.

Requirements

Requires physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position, including the ability to walk, stand, lift, carry up to 50 pounds, push, kneel, bend, stoop, reach over and under waist level, twist for extended periods of time on cement or other hard surfaces, etc.
Demonstrates the verbal and written communication skills necessary to complete forms and take messages in a legible, accurate manner.
Two-year certification from technical school or two plus years of experience.
Must be able to communicate in English.
Ability to use a computer.
