About The Position

Pay starts at $25-28 per hour, based on experience and benefits include PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, and a 401k with up to 4% match. What you’ll do as a CNC Laser Operator: Set up and perform laser production runs according to MOs (manufacturing orders). Read and follow all diagrams and technical drawings. Use standard work, make suggestions to improve processes, and document changes. Load sheets of stainless steel onto laser bed using a pneumatic lifting device. Use various shop tools including calipers and height gauges to inspect materials; watch for out-of-tolerance parts, poor finishes (incl. scratches or burrs), and damaged or worn tooling. Place finished parts in the assigned staging area and move items to other Fabrication areas as directed. Quickly identify and help resolve production quality and machine maintenance issues using Lean tools. Complete all operator level maintenance activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Maintain equipment and related safety or service logs as instructed. Help meet overall production goals and rotate areas or machines as needed. Be actively engaged in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts. Maintain a clean and organized work environment using 6S. Work safely. Follow all directions and procedures and wear appropriate PPE. Demonstrate our core values: Teamwork – Readily share knowledge and work together across teams/departments. Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a laser operator; preferably using a Mitsubishi two-dimensional fiber laser or similar
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • The ability to read, interpret, and understand complicated work diagrams or schematics
  • Experience using calipers and height gauges to ensure products meet work and quality specifications
  • Flexibility and willingness to pivot focus – production needs may change throughout the day
  • Apply critical thinking to solve problems and use lessons learned in future situations
  • Use intermediate math skills to make machine adjustments based on work instructions
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
  • Monitor own work to ensure quality
  • The ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for your full shift

Nice To Haves

  • Formal technical training or trade school certification preferred
  • Prior experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment is strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks programs, and CNC programing basics is preferred
