About The Position

Position is focused primarily on the setup and operation of a multi-spindle, multi-turret lathe. Applies inspection techniques to monitor the CNC process. Collaborates with colleagues to maximize productivity in the precision manufacturing of the highest quality valves & actuators for aerospace and power generation customers.

Requirements

• This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
• Experience in set-up and operation of multi axis CNC machinery: 3 axis lathes minimum; 4/5 axis horizontal mills and pallet line experience a plus.
• High School Graduate or equivalent; technical certification or degree a plus.
• Ability to work from complex drawings containing GD&T.
• Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
• Solid understanding of G-code. Ability to program machines a plus.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with low volume, high mix production a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex blue prints, shop travelers, and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
• Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
• Installing fixtures and setting work offsets.
• Using an offline tool pre-setter, prepare and set tools needed for machining operations.
• Accurately and efficiently diagnose deviations and trends; adjust offsets to maintain quality product based on the analysis.
• Report machinery, tooling or quality issues to supervisor.
• Run multiple machine centers as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
