A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CNC MACHINIST - MACHINE OPERATOR As a CNC Machinist - Machine Operator, you are the backbone of our manufacturing company. Your job is to operate the computer numerical control (CNC) machines that create the variety of molds our customers require. Each day, you arrive at your shift ready to perform precision machining. Your tasks include milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, and inspection. At all times, you keep an eye out for any problems that might crop up, such as bottlenecks, defects in materials, or other inefficiencies, and you are proactive in finding solutions. In addition, you ensure that we operate efficiently by monitoring the tool inventory, performing inspections for quality assurance, and taking care of regular preventative maintenance. A team player, you are eager to help us meet our goals, so you participate in the tooling selection for new techniques and help implement new procedures, equipment, and tooling.
