What’s it like working for a company that manufactures the world’s greatest military combat vehicles? Inspiring. BAE Systems is an industry leader in the design, development, manufacture, systems integration, and life cycle support for ground and amphibious combat vehicles and advanced weapon systems. As part of our engineering and manufacturing team, you can help us ensure the integrity and reliability of our most critical products. Our Combat Mission Systems business is currently looking for two CNC Process Engineers that are dedicated to enhancing manufacturing processes through the development of tooling and rising to the challenge to deliver products that help protect the lives of those who serve. We are looking for Second Shift (3:15 p.m.-1:45 a.m. Monday-Thursday) or Weekend Shift (Friday-Sunday 5 a.m.-5:30 p.m.). As a CNC Process Engineer, you will: Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. Functions performed may include determining the machines, equipment, and tools, as well as the sequence of operations necessary to perform machining operations, recommending the design of machine fixturing and advising and assisting other engineers with design problems in connection with tools, gauges, and equipment designed for use in manufacturing. Program and assist prove-outs on 3, 4 and 5-axis machines using Mastercam software to program and vericut simulation. Program, set up, and perform first article inspections on multi-axis CNC mills for production of raw stock and weldments. Create, review, and edit CNC machining programs using Mastercam. Write and/or modify CNC programs and instruction sheets for multi-axis machined parts. Maintain and update programming databases and files for each part and machining center. Support manufacturing operations by providing input for routers and process flows. Review older programs and process flows for optimization opportunities to improve cycle times, tool life, and production costs.
