Be part of something bigger—build your future with us! This position works closely with Engineering to produce tooling that is utilized within our manufacturing facility. The position is directly responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting multiple CNC machines. This requires technical skills, attention to detail, problem solving abilities, and a solid understanding of mechanics and shop math.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in machining, or 5 years’ experience in a machining position.
  • Understands engineering drawings. Knows how to follow setup instructions and tool lists provided by engineering.
  • Carries out routine tooling setup and maintenance (drills, end mills, taps, reamers, etc.).
  • Owns basic machinist tools (caliper, micrometer, test indicator, etc.) and knows how to use them.
  • Removes and installs vises and other fixtures accurately and safely.
  • Maintains/services CNC machines (coolant upkeep, cleaning of machines, filter changes, etc.).
  • Operates the CNC machining centers in a safe manner.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting of CNC machining programs.
  • Calibrates the measurement probe, tool setter, or other CNC setup equipment.
  • Adjusts tool and work offsets when required. Sets rotation on larger parts.
  • Prepares material when required using provided equipment (band saw, surfaces grinder, etc.).
  • Machines precision parts accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to obtain forklift and hoist certification through employer training program.
