Dixon Holedall , a proud division of The Dixon Group, is seeking an experienced CNC Set Up Operator to join our 1st shift manufacturing team in Houston, TX! This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong CNC setup and troubleshooting experience who enjoys working in a team-oriented, production-focused environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC setup and troubleshooting experience in a production environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routings, and work instructions
  • Proficient with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges)
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling
  • Familiarity with G-code and basic program troubleshooting
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Mazatrol-controlled machines
  • Exposure to minor program edits or offsets at the machine
  • Previous experience mentoring or training CNC operators

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to run new and repeat production jobs
  • Install, measure, and verify cutting tools and offsets
  • Locate, install, and secure jaws and workholding devices in chucks or fixtures
  • Verify setups using blueprints, job travelers, and inspection tools
  • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to ensure part quality
  • Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, or program-related issues
  • Perform routine daily machine maintenance and housekeeping
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
  • Cross-train and assist other operators as needed
  • Collaborate with team members, leads, and supervisors to meet production goals
