Spring 2027 Co-Op Engineer- Blacksburg, VA or Herndon, VA
About The Position
Peraton is seeking Co-Op Engineers for the Spring 2027 semester in either our Blacksburg, VA or Herndon, VA offices supporting various government programs/contracts. Candidates are expected to work 40/hours per week on-site during the co-op period. Interns/Co-ops typically represent college students trying to gain related work experience while pursuing an undergraduate degree. Under direct supervision, the ideal candidate will design, develop, and test leading edge technology solutions in areas such as cybersecurity, satellite ground systems, information management systems, cloud computing, and mobility. They will work in a collaborative, team-oriented Agile software development environment.
Requirements
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
- You are a current undergrad or graduate student and have completed progress toward a BS/BA degree or MS/MA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- You have a foundation in object-oriented development, preferably in Java.
- You have the ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts.
- You have hands on experience through coursework and/or previous internships.
Nice To Haves
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- An already active/existing security clearance.
