Summary Responsible for applying coating (powder coating or spray paint) to castings on a regular basis. Operate hoist equipment for parts up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.
Use proper lifting and ergo techniques.
Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material or equipment needs.
Follow detailed job specific instructions to make sure castings are produced in the most efficient manner and to meet customer specifications.
Conduct daily inspection of equipment.
Perform color changes required by customer specifications.
Apply specific coating to parts.
Inspect raw castings for defects before powder is applied.
Empty waste hoppers and returns powder to storage daily.
Notify supervisor of errors or equipment stoppage.
Clear equipment at end of operating run and reviews schedule to determine next assignment.
Record problems which occurred, such as down time, and actions taken.
Meet or exceeds hourly production rates every hour.
Maintain cleanliness of the production area.
