Summary Responsible for applying coating (powder coating or spray paint) to castings on a regular basis. Operate hoist equipment for parts up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
  • Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.
  • Use proper lifting and ergo techniques.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material or equipment needs.
  • Follow detailed job specific instructions to make sure castings are produced in the most efficient manner and to meet customer specifications.
  • Conduct daily inspection of equipment.
  • Perform color changes required by customer specifications.
  • Apply specific coating to parts.
  • Inspect raw castings for defects before powder is applied.
  • Empty waste hoppers and returns powder to storage daily.
  • Notify supervisor of errors or equipment stoppage.
  • Clear equipment at end of operating run and reviews schedule to determine next assignment.
  • Record problems which occurred, such as down time, and actions taken.
  • Meet or exceeds hourly production rates every hour.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the production area.
