About The Position

We're now hiring a Beverage server for the Cabinet and the Lock venues that align with our exhibits and themed entertainment products. This individual would play two important integral parts to our themed venues. In the Lock, the server is no guff taking and helps to set the environment. It’s a “Speakeasy” and as such, one must always watch for who’s listening! The Cabinet is more celebrating our worldly exhibitions. There will be pieces and props from all over the world, each having a story in which this person will help to share. The server delivers a much-needed piece of the puzzle to provide our guest an immersive environment of taste, as in your taste buds and art! Job Summary: The Cocktail Server is responsible for provided support to the Mixologist in creation of atmosphere and delivering an experience that immerses the guest into a time, a story, or a mood in which we create. The primary responsibility of the Beverage Service is to ensure guests can enjoy their spirits in appropriate and timely environment. Duties include working with other Imagine Exhibition team members to help maintain the experience by character and engage our guests. This is not necessarily a total list or exhaustive list of tasks, skills, duties, requirements, and efforts of the job requirements associated with this position. Management reserves all rights to revise, alter, change, add the current job and requirements to include other tasks be performed regarding an ever-changing landscape, including technical updates, changes in personal, emergencies and/or workload shifts.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • One-year previous cocktail server experience required
  • One-year guest service experience required
  • Union Pour Card required
  • High School degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must have dexterity and ability to learn entertainment/mixology pouring.
  • Must be able to pass a math test.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that guests will find appealing and approachable to engage in conversation.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and scheduled shift.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Work requires knowledge of tray service and cocktail ingredients.
  • Able to handle multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks
  • Requires standing and walking continuously with tray up to 20 lbs. through the shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 20lbs.
  • Must be able to work inside assigned speakeasy or lounge
  • Must be able to bend, pull and carry bar stock to refrigerators and cabinets.
  • Must be able to use hand motion when preparing and pouring all types of drinks for customers and cocktail servers.
  • Must be able to stoop and reach.
  • Must be able to use hand motion when collecting/serving glasses from tables
  • Must have manual dexterity required to write drink orders prepare drinks and garnishes and beverage orders.
  • Must be able to listen and respond to aural and visual cues.
  • Must be able to complete required paperwork for cash transactions.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to converse over the telephone in an environment with loud background noise.
  • Must have appropriate work credentials as require

Responsibilities

  • Greets and welcomes all guests into venue, service delivery based upon character/venue
  • Provides timely cocktail service in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Keeps assigned areas clean and empty of glasses and bottles.
  • Constantly looks for service opportunities.
  • Responds to and resolves guest complaints.
  • Answers guest questions and is knowledgeable about property events and attractions.
  • Performs all side work at assigned station, such as, stocking coffee, glasses, sugar, cream and coffee dispenser.
  • Provides fast (20 minute or less round time), friendly, professional beverage service to the Lock and the Cabinet. Server will move between both rooms.
  • Takes drink orders, communicates with Mixologist, assists in the preparation of drinks and presents drinks to guests
  • Maintains clean and stocked workstation
  • Handles money according to procedure
  • Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
  • Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions; appears in publicity photos
  • Ensures guests have their two drink menu as required within the Lock, 90 min visit.
  • Works well with others, especially with beverage servers, our Mixologist, and our leadership.
  • Provides personalized service and uses guest name
  • Resolves service problems according to guidelines
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
