Coding Tutor / Instructor (Code Sensei)
About The Position
Do you enjoy teaching and working with kids? Do you have experience with basic coding? Do you like playing video games? If you answered yes, this might be the job for you! What are we looking for? We are looking for a Sensei (Coding Tutor/Instructor) to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Sensei is the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 7-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. Our core promise is, Kids have fun, parents see results. We believe in these words so much that it’s written on the walls in our center.
Requirements
- Experience working with children ages 7 and up (1 year – Required)
- Computer programming experience (1 year – Required)
- Enthusiastic about working with kids; mentoring and teaching
- Patient, kind, and understanding
- Works well with others; collaborates and takes pride in their work
- Upbeat and fun individual with a passion for technology and learning
- Knowledgeable about coding and technology
- Ideal for High School Juniors/Seniors and College students
Nice To Haves
- Some experience in Robotics, Minecraft, or Roblox
Responsibilities
- Learn and teach Code Ninjas’ game curriculum
- Work with children (aka Ninjas) on their belt curriculum
- Create a positive, safe, and fun environment in which student can grow
- Assist with Day Camps, Parent Night Outs, Birthday Parties, and Summer Camps
- Develop/modify STEM activities to support belt and camp curriculum
- Follow opening/closing and cleaning duties daily
