The ATCOT Systems Accreditation Specialist will provide high quality personalized and customized service to all ATCOT adolescents Education Department Coordinators and Teachers, particularly in relation to maintaining systems accreditation status and evaluation, deliver a variety of services related to accreditation. May be requested to provide service anywhere Cognia needs their expertise for each campus; however, priority for assignments will be given to the Cognia System Specialist and then distributed to each campus.

Requirements

  • BS in Education or equivalent required; M.Ed. or Ph.D. in educational leadership area preferred
  • A minimum of five years PK -12 teaching experience required
  • Three or more years in a leadership capacity in a PK -12 school or district preferred
  • Experience as an educational leader at the building or central office level desired
  • Expected to maintain a high -level of knowledge about the current operations of Cognia by participating in on -going professional development related to Cognia’s work
  • Certification for eleot™ and/or erel™ preferred
  • Experience with Cognia tools and processes preferred
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Substantial experience in the field of education as a school or district leader
  • Knowledge of Cognia processes and protocols
  • Extensive travel (>20%)
  • Travel to Annual All Staff Company Meeting required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Cognia Accreditation Engagement, Monitoring, Candidacy, and any other types of reviews, and campus meetings.
  • Complete a thorough program of instruction through “myjourney” website that provides all the information necessary to conduct all Cognia reviews/updates.
  • Attend ongoing professional in -service training to improve and refine evaluation skills.
  • Provide technical assistance and systems accreditation training to each campus.
  • Provide assistance, as needed, to institutions for their six -year accreditation cycles.
  • Provide technical assistance concerning Cognia’s online and offline accreditation tools.
  • Provide high -quality instruction concerning Cognia accreditation processes to campuses as those campuses prepare for their upcoming reviews.
  • Assist campuses (post review) interpret the findings and provide guidance on improvement planning and strategies that will help the campus achieve improvement goals.
  • Represent ATCOT Cognia in the professional community.
  • Provide information and assistance concerning Cognia’s accreditation and improvement services, such as presentations at meetings and conferences, as necessary.
  • Represent ATCOT Adolescent campuses/Cognia by attending school and school system meetings for activities such as providing feedback and presenting awards or recognitions as required.
  • Assist the region and the state offices in conducting their service plans.
  • May be responsible for reviewing reports and/or acting in the capacity of a coach to other reviewers.
  • Perform duties and fulfill responsibilities that may, from time to time, include related or unrelated tasks.
