About The Position

Assists with the collateral review quality control (“QC”) function by performing the QC reviews for loan servicing reviews, lower risk residential reviews and by re-reviewing work already performed by the collateral review team analysts to ensure accurate and consistent findings. Communicates with Members to coordinate the initial steps in the collateral review process. Provides support to the Loan Review Manager and VP of Credit Services by performing a variety of departmental tasks, as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in residential or commercial mortgage loan underwriting, operations, servicing, and/or quality control related activities.
  • Ability to interact with Bank staff and outside personnel in a professional and tactful manner, handle sensitive information while maintaining integrity and continually demonstrates tact and diplomacy.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize work assignments. Ability to research, identify and implement solutions to a variety of administrative problems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a personal computer, including a working knowledge of application software. Proficiency with Microsoft applications (i.e. CoPilot, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality control procedures on loan servicing review and lower risk residential collateral review reports and supporting working papers. Ensures clarity, conciseness, relevance, and consistency in the communication of review findings. Validates report findings are well supported in working paper documentation and departmental standards are met.
  • Assists with the collateral verification quality control function by sampling and re-reviewing analysts’ work, documenting the findings and reporting areas of concern to the Loan Review Manager and VP, Credit Services.
  • Communicates with FHLB Members to coordinate the initial steps in the collateral review process, including the request and reconciliation of reported loan data and the preparation of loan samples for collateral verification reviews.
  • Performs analysis on loan level information documented during collateral reviews to ensure the consistency and accuracy of data collected by the credit risk review team
  • Assists with collateral verification and loan servicing review activities at member locations depending on departmental resource needs.
  • Monitors departmental compliance with the Bank’s end user computing policy.
  • Monitors departmental compliance with records information management policy.
  • Performs these and other duties as requested by management.
