About The Position

The Gulfstream stress team is looking for a collegiate intern for this fall who will be carefully chosen to support our big data and digital thread initiative project. This project will introduce a comprehensive data management and visualization system, which will allow seamless, end-to-end data flow between connected databases. The end goal of the project is to develop, deploy, and maintain the big data system architecture and toolkit to manage and connect all engineering data systems in order to establish a single-source of truth connected chain of data from design and development through operations. This system will enable Structures to be fully prepared to handle the huge data demands that a Gnext program will undoubtedly require. The intern candidate selected will possess a myriad of skillsets. They will be an aerospace or mechanical engineering major, with a focus on structures. They should have an extensive background in data management with coursework or experience related to data science on their resume. They will have superior computer programing skills, including experience with Python, Visual Basic, SvelteKit, and other languages. And lastly, they will have worked in the past with AI systems and machine learning and be able to apply those concepts to big data engineering type problems. The student will join the team upon graduation and be focused on supporting the development and execution of the system in support of an upcoming Gnext project.
